Workplace parking guide

Can You Get an Oil Change at Work?

The direct answer: A mobile oil change may be possible at a workplace when the property permits it and there is a safe, accessible parking location with adequate room for service. Confirm permission and access before booking.

Workplace permission

Ask before scheduling, even if you control your assigned parking space. Confirm your employer's or workplace's rules along with any property-management, parking-garage, and security requirements. Find out whether vehicle maintenance is permitted, where it may occur, and whether the service provider needs advance authorization. An OilFi booking cannot grant permission to use someone else's property.

Choosing a suitable parking location

Choose an approved, level space that is safely accessible and leaves unobstructed working room around the vehicle. Avoid fire lanes, active travel lanes, steep surfaces, restricted areas, and spaces where service is prohibited. Indoor garage service is not guaranteed because clearance, ventilation, access controls, traffic, working room, or property rules may make a location unsuitable.

If a workplace cannot accommodate service, consider another permitted private location. The mobile oil change at an apartment complex guide explains similar permission and parking considerations for residential properties.

Security, gate and garage access

Provide the exact building and vehicle location when booking. Include authorized gate or garage entry directions, building or suite context, security check-in requirements, visitor procedures, parking level, space number, and any directions needed to find the vehicle. Never share a code if workplace rules prohibit it; arrange the approved entry method instead.

Preparing the vehicle

The vehicle must remain parked and accessible throughout the selected appointment window. Make the keys available if required by the appointment instructions, and stay reachable if the technician needs help with access or has a vehicle question. Remove obstacles around the vehicle and make sure the approved space remains available.

The service window is a scheduling window, not a guaranteed arrival time or guaranteed service duration. Setup, vehicle design, oil capacity, filter location, selected add-ons, and cleanup can affect timing. See what affects mobile oil-change appointment time for more detail.

OilFi pricing

Conventional oil-change service starts at $109, high-mileage service starts at $129, and full-synthetic service starts at $149. These current prices come from the same managed pricing source used by the booking experience.

Each base service includes an oil filter and up to 5 quarts of the selected oil. Additional oil is currently $11.50 per quart. Vehicle capacity, vehicle-specific requirements, specialty or premium filters, and selected add-ons can affect the final amount. For more context, read the Tampa Bay mobile oil-change cost guide.

What happens during the appointment

The provider locates the vehicle, confirms access and service details, sets up the work area, performs the selected service, and completes cleanup. Vetted Technicians means OilFi reviews service providers before they join the network. It does not promise criminal background checks, specific insurance, certifications, or guaranteed screening procedures.

Payment is collected after completed service. Cancellation and rescheduling are free. OilFi may charge the full scheduled service amount only when the assigned technician arrives within the confirmed appointment window, attempts to contact the customer using the booking contact information, waits at least 15 minutes after arrival, and documents arrival and those steps.
